Acute toxicity assessment of drinking water source with luminescent bacteria: Impact of environmental conditions and a case study in Luoma Lake, East China

摘要: Abstract • Acute toxicity assessment was conducted in Luoma lake watershed, East China. • Impacts of environmental factors on the toxicity testing was fully evaluated. • Dissolve oxygen had a weak positive correlation with luminescence inhibition rate. Protecting the quality of lake watersheds by preventing and reducing their contamination is an effective approach to ensure the sustainability of the drinking water supply. In this study, acute toxicity assessment was conducted on the basis of acute bioluminescence inhibition assay using the marine bacterium Vibrio fischeri as the test organism and Luoma Lake drinking water source in East China as the research target. The suitable ranges of environmental factors, including pH value, organic matter, turbidity, hardness, and dissolved oxygen of water samples were evaluated for the toxicity testing of bioluminescent bacteria. The physicochemical characteristics of water samples at the selected 43 sites of Luoma Lake watershed were measured. Results showed that the variations in pH value (7.31–8.41), hardness (5–20 °d) and dissolved oxygen (4.44–11.03 mg/L) of Luoma Lake and its main inflow and outflow rivers had negligible impacts on the acute toxicity testing of V. fischeri. The luminescence inhibition rates ranged from -11.21% to 10.80% at the 43 sites. Pearson’s correlation analysis in the experiment revealed that temperature, pH value, hardness, and turbidity had no correlation with luminescence inhibition rate, whereas dissolved oxygen showed a weak statistically positive correlation with a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.455 (p<0.05).

Reliability analysis of urban gas transmission and distribution system based on FMEA and correlation

摘要: In order to improve the safety management of urban gas transmission and distribution system, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) was used to construct the reliability analysis system of the pipeline network. To solve the problem of subjectivity and uncertainty of the multi-expert decision making, the correlation operator was introduced into the calculation of the risk priority number (RPN). Using FMEA along with weight analysis and expert investigation approach, the FMEA evaluation table was given, including five failure modes, risk priority numbers, failure causes and effects, as well as corrective actions. The results show that correlation operator can directly process the linguistic terms and quantify the priority of the risks.

Characteristic and correlation analysis of influent and energy consumption of wastewater treatment plants

摘要: Poor biodegradability and insufficient carbon source are discovered from influent. Influent indices presented positively normal distribution or skewed distribution. Average energy consumption of WWTPs in Taihu Basin was as high as 0.458 kWh/m3. Energy consumption increases with the increase in influent volume and COD reduction. The total energy consumption decreases with the NH3-N reduction. The water quality and energy consumption of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) in Taihu Basin were evaluated on the basis of the operation data from 204 municipal WWTPs in the basin by using various statistical methods. The influent ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) and total nitrogen (TN) of WWTPs in Taihu Basin showed normal distribution, whereas chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5), suspended solid (SS), and total phosphorus (TP) showed positively skewed distribution. The influent BOD5/COD was 0.4%–0.6%, only 39.2% SS/BOD5 exceeded the standard by 36.3%, the average BOD5/TN was 3.82, and the probability of influent BOD5/TP>20 was 82.8%. The average energy consumption of WWTPs in Taihu Basin in 2017 was 0.458 kWh/m3. The specific energy consumption of WWTPs with a daily treatment capacity of more than 5 × 104 m3 in Taihu Basin was stable at 0.33 kWh/m3. A power function relationship was observed between the reduction in COD and NH3-N and the specific energy consumption of pollutant reduction, and the higher the pollutant reduction is, the lower the specific energy consumption of pollutant reduction presents. In addition, a linear relationship existed between the energy consumption of WWTPs and the specific energy consumption of influent volume and pollutant reduction. Therefore, upgrading and operation with less energy consumption of WWTPs is imperative and the suggestions for Taihu WWTPs based on stringent discharge standard are proposed in detail.

Correlation analysis of couple optical paths for micro stereovision with stereo light microscope

摘要: A micro stereovision system with a stereo light microscope (SLM) has been applied in micromanipulation systems. There is a coupling connection between two optical paths of a stereo light microscope. The coupling intension corresponds with two factors: the structure of an SLM and the position of an object point in the view of an SLM. In this paper, a correlation function is proposed to describe the coupling intension between the couple optical paths of an SLM. The quantified results are applied to the error analysis of the imaging model. Experiments show that the correlation of the optical paths of a common main objective of stereo light microscope (CMO-SLM) is little more than that of a G-SLM, and the error must be considered when a pinhole imaging model is used to analyze its correlation.

Correlation between carbon emissions and energy structure –Reliability analysis of low carbon target

摘要: The influence of energy intensity on carbon intensity depends upon the fraction of energy mixes with high carbon emissions in the total energy mixes . The correlation of with a variety of primary energy mix fractions and technology advances such as CCS and CCHP is analyzed and deduced. Taking the long-term carbon reduction target in 2050 settled upon by the Copenhagen Agreement and the mid-term target suggested by the “450 Scenes Program” of the International Energy Agency (IEA) as constraints, the new pattern of the energy transition of the world in 2020, 2030, and 2050 are estimated and figured out. The peak value of energy consumption will lag behind the peak value of carbon emissions; the world energy structure shifting point will be in 2020–2025. Estimates show that China’s mid-2020 and long-term targets of energy-saving and emission reduction announced by the Chinese government might be achieved.

Reliability analysis on civil engineering project based on integrated adaptive simulation annealing andgray correlation method

摘要: Dynamic reliability is a very important issue in reliability research. The dynamic reliability analysis for the project is still in search of domestic and international research in the exploration stage. By now, dynamic reliability research mainly concentrates on the reliability assessment; the methods mainly include dynamic fault tree, extension of event sequence diagram and Monte Carlo simulation, and et al. The paper aims to research the dynamic reliability optimization. On the basis of analysis of the four quality influence factors in the construction engineering, a method based on gray correlation degree is employed to calculate the weights of factors affecting construction process quality. Then the weights are added into the reliability improvement feasible index (RIFI). Furthermore, a novel nonlinear programming mathematic optimization model is established. In the Insight software environment, the Adaptive Simulated Annealing (ASA) algorithm is used to get a more accurate construction subsystem optimal reliability under different RIFI conditions. In addition, the relationship between construction quality and construction system reliability is analyzed, the proposed methods and detailed processing can offer a useful reference for improving the construction system quality level.

Seismic ground motion analysis of Shanghai Pudong Airport site considering the effects of spatial correlation

摘要: The terminal No. II of Shanghai Pudong International Airport is located at Pudong District of Shanghai City near shore of East China Sea, and the area of the long-span terminal is 400 m × 200 m. The construction site of the terminal locates on the irregular topography, and its alluvium achieves about 300 m in thickness. The spatial correlation of seismic ground motion, as well as the amplification of soft alluvium and the effect of irregular topography, should be considered. This paper uses a simplified method to obtain the response spectrum of the engineering bedrock under the irregular topography. The spectrum is used to generate the sets of spatially correlative horizontal and vertical seismic motions. The surface ground motion was calculated under incidence of the spatially correlative seismic motion by 2D finite element method (FEM) model considering nonlinear properties of the soil by means of the equivalent linear method. In order to compare the effect of 2D irregular topography, the seismic response analysis of 1D model is carried out by using the equivalent linear method. For indicating the effect of the spatial correlation of input motions, the horizontal uniform inputs, as well as the horizontal and vertical uniform input are carried out for the seismic response analysis of the site. Finally, some characteristics of seismic ground motion calculated for previously mentioned cases are compared.

A study on specialist or special disease clinics based on big data

摘要:

Correlation analysis and processing of massive medical information can be implemented through big data technology to find the relevance of different factors in the life cycle of a disease and to provide the basis for scientific research and clinical practice. This paper explores the concept of constructing a big medical data platform and introduces the clinical model construction. Medical data can be collected and consolidated by distributed computing technology. Through analysis technology, such as artificial neural network and grey model, a medical model can be built. Big data analysis, such as Hadoop, can be used to construct early prediction and intervention models as well as clinical decision-making model for specialist and special disease clinics. It establishes a new model for common clinical research for specialist and special disease clinics.

Concentrations and classification of HCHs and DDTs in soil from the lower reaches of the Jiulong River, China

摘要: Soil is an important source to other environmental media and organisms for organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) bioaccumulation. Twenty-four representative surface soil samples were collected from the lower reaches of the Jiulong River, China, in 2009. The concentrations of hexachlorocyclohexane isomers (HCHs) ranged from 0.38 to 39.52 ng·g , with a mean value of 9.51 ng·g . The concentrations of dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethanes (DDTs) and their metabolites were within the ranges of 0.94–700.99 ng·g , with a mean value of 71.17 ng·g . The concentrations of HCHs and DDTs in the soil were lower than the first grade level (50 ng·g ) of the Chinese Environmental Quality Standard (GB15618-1995). Hierarchical Cluster Analysis (HCA) and Pearson’s bivariate Correlations Analysis (PCA) were used to analyse the distribution and contamination levels of OCPs in this region. The results showed that DDTs were the major contaminants and there were no significant correlations between various OCPs concentrations and the total organic carbon (TOC) contents. A significant positive correlation was observed between HCHs and DDTs ( <0.01), which indicates that HCHs and DDTs may have similar sources and fate in the study area.

摘要: 相关分析是研究数据模式和预测的有效机制。在看似无关的数据中建立相关性可得到许多有趣发现。提出一种算法,用于量化相关性理论并得出一个直观且更精确的相关系数。为计算配对值之间相关性,提出一项预测指标,称为一般秩相关系数。其满足预测指标的5个基本标准:样本规模的独立性、数值介于−1与1之间、测量单调性程度、对异常值不敏感性、直观演示。此外,使用实时数据集和随机数模拟实验对该指标进行验证。同时,展示了所提方程的数学推导过程,并与斯皮尔曼等级相关系数比较。结果表明,该指标在所有预测度量标准上均优于现存指标。

Cross-sectional network analysis of plasma proteins/metabolites correlated with pathogenesis and therapeutic

摘要: The treatment of PML/RARA+ acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) with all-trans-retinoic acid and arsenic trioxide (ATRA/ATO) has been recognized as a model for translational medicine research. Though an altered microenvironment is a general cancer hallmark, how APL blasts shape their plasma composition is poorly understood. Here, we reported a cross-sectional correlation network to interpret multilayered datasets on clinical parameters, proteomes, and metabolomes of paired plasma samples from patients with APL before or after ATRA/ATO induction therapy. Our study revealed the two prominent features of the APL plasma, suggesting a possible involvement of APL blasts in modulating plasma composition. One was characterized by altered secretory protein and metabolite profiles correlating with heightened proliferation and energy consumption in APL blasts, and the other featured APL plasma-enriched proteins or enzymes catalyzing plasma-altered metabolites that were potential trans-regulatory targets of PML/RARA. Furthermore, results indicated heightened interferon-gamma signaling characterizing a tumor-suppressing function of the immune system at the first hematological complete remission stage, which likely resulted from therapy-induced cell death or senescence and ensuing supraphysiological levels of intracellular proteins. Overall, our work sheds new light on the pathophysiology and treatment of APL and provides an information-rich reference data cohort for the exploratory and translational study of leukemia microenvironment.

基于Lü系统的移动机器人完成特殊情况下全覆盖路径规划的参数值选择策略 Research Article

摘要: 针对移动机器人完成特殊情况下的全覆盖路径规划(complete coverage path planning, CCPP)任务,基于Lü系统,提出一种构造混沌机器人的系统参数值综合选择策略,以满足特殊任务下遍历轨迹高随机性和高覆盖率的需求。首先利用混沌系统必为耗散系统的特点,大致确定Lü系统成为耗散系统的参数取值范围;然后计算耗散系统下的李雅普诺夫指数谱,缩小系统参数的取值范围;其次画出这些参数下的相平面,大致判断其轨迹的拓扑分布特性;进一步在好的参数取值里,计算每个参数下变量的皮尔逊相关系数,判断每个变量的随机特性。最后,在所确定参数值下,利用其中的变量构造混沌机器人,并仿真测试了覆盖率,研究覆盖率和变量随机特性之间的关系。上述综合选择策略根据覆盖轨迹混沌性和随机性的要求,逐渐缩小了系统参数的取值范围。与使用一组固定的经典参数值的Lü系统相比,经过综合方法选择参数值的系统,能挑选出李雅普诺夫指数大的变量来构造混沌机器人,从而使覆盖轨迹的随机性能更高。另一个混沌Lorenz系统,用来测试和验证所设计策略的可行性和有效性。此类研究能够提高机器人完成特殊情况下CCPP任务的效率。

Higher heating value prediction of torrefaction char produced from non-woody biomass

摘要: The higher heating value of five types of non-woody biomass and their torrefaction char was predicted and compared with the experimental data obtained in this paper. The correlation proposed in this paper and the ones suggested by previous researches were used for prediction. For prediction using proximate analysis data, the mass fraction of fixed carbon and volatile matter had a strong effect on the higher heating value prediction of torrefaction char of non-woody biomass. The high ash fraction found in torrefied char resulted in a decrease in prediction accuracy. However, the prediction could be improved by taking into account the effect of ash fraction. The correlation developed in this paper gave a better prediction than the ones suggested by previous researches, and had an absolute average error (AAE) of 2.74% and an absolute bias error (ABE) of 0.52%. For prediction using elemental analysis data, the mass fraction of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen had a strong effect on the higher heating value, while no relationship between the higher heating value and mass fractions of nitrogen and sulfur was discovered. The best correlation gave an AAE of 2.28% and an ABE of 1.36%.

Digital image correlation-based structural state detection through deep learning

摘要: This paper presents a new approach for automatical classification of structural state through deep learning. In this work, a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) was designed to fuse both the feature extraction and classification blocks into an intelligent and compact learning system and detect the structural state of a steel frame; the input was a series of vibration signals, and the output was a structural state. The digital image correlation (DIC) technology was utilized to collect vibration information of an actual steel frame, and subsequently, the raw signals, without further pre-processing, were directly utilized as the CNN samples. The results show that CNN can achieve 99% classification accuracy for the research model. Besides, compared with the backpropagation neural network (BPNN), the CNN had an accuracy similar to that of the BPNN, but it only consumes 19% of the training time. The outputs of the convolution and pooling layers were visually displayed and discussed as well. It is demonstrated that: 1) the CNN can extract the structural state information from the vibration signals and classify them; 2) the detection and computational performance of the CNN for the incomplete data are better than that of the BPNN; 3) the CNN has better anti-noise ability.
